Lava Iris 504Q is amongst those mid-range smart phones that comes with an advanced hardware configuration and high end design; and offers both quality and affordability. A Quad-core device, this latest Android handset makes Gesture Technology more intriguing.
Lava International, one of the major Indian brands launched its latest smart phone Lava Iris 504Q in the market with a hope to gain control over domestic mobile market; with its phone’s new features and design layout.
It comes with 5 inch display with speaker grill at the top, just like Butterfly; though with 140 grams weight it is lighter than HTC’s smart phone and measures 72.9 x 8.4 x 142.9 mm in dimensions, making it quite slimmer than HTC Butterfly.
The front comprises a large display with three capacitive buttons at the bottom (Menu, Home and Back). At the top of the display, you can locate a 2MP front camera along with a sensor.
Power and Performance Good
Lava Iris 504Q has been included with a powerful 1.2GHz ARM Cortex A7 Quad-core Processor supported with 1GB RAM, making multitasking more convenient and hassle-free. The perfect hardware configuration ensures to deliver faster and better performance.
The device has been deployed with an advanced POWERVR SGX 544MP chip for processing graphics; which can also be found in the Samsung’s flagship model Galaxy S4. powerful quad-core processor advanced GPU. You also managed to play high definition play games.
Software and UI
The handset runs on Android Jelly Bean 4.2.1 OS, which is again an advantage for the phone. Though the Lava came out late with Jelly Bean 4.2 compared to its other competitors, still the Android experience with this new device has been awesome till the time I used it.
Display
Lava Iris 504Q sports a crisp and clear 5-inch HD IPS Touch Screen that offers 1280 x 720 pixels resolution. The display in 504Q is quite impressive in price point. It has been included with One Glass Solution Technology (OGS), which makes touch more sensitive and screen much visually enhanced.
The color reproduction is just perfect; nor too dull or too vibrant. Also, the brightness levels are balanced and look fantastic.
Iris 504Q’s was able to deliver decent video quality, though compared to other devices with similar pixel resolution; it lacked details in video playback. Still, the display is pretty decent to watch videos and movies.
Camera
Iris 504Q has been integrated with 8 Mega Pixel Rear Camera. The camera comes with BSI sensor, to ensure best quality images are delivered and the availability of LED flash facilitates in taking pictures in low light surroundings. I was quite amazed by the quality of its camera.
Storage and Battery
Disappointingly, Iris 504Q comes with only 2GB on-board storage. And this might worry you a bit as space tends to compress whenever there is new game or app is installed. I wish if it was at least 4GB. Still, you have the option to include 32GB external storage via microSD card.
Iris 504Q uses 2000 mAh Li-Polymer battery to power the device. The battery was able to offer 10 hours of talk time with 200 hours of standby time. This sounds pretty OK for a quad-core device with OGS based screen.
Calling and Messaging
Just like any other dual-SIM smart phone, 504Q also comes with a SIM management function. The phone’s network reception is pretty decent. Making a call is similar to other Android handsets. Its call quality is also decent; you can clearly hear the voice of other person from the other end.

But in most of the sites in the review everybody says that the camera quality is average and not good.. Any comments on that pls.
i am using this phone last from 1 july 2013 - and this phone is excellent as per my review - video quality - much perfect, speed very fast - look awesome, body very good, OTG function work very fast and you can connect - any external drive with this phone - for example if you have pen drive so you can connect with this divice and enjoy your data in phone screen , gasture technology work very fast - you no need to tuch your phone - when you take picture , when you lestioning song, when you checking you picture - etc
