Xperia Z tablet has super-slim design along with super-light weight. . Available for Rs. 42,990 in the market, the Sony Z Tablet is also a water-dust resistant device that comes with a shatter proof sheet.
In one sentence, the Xperia Z Tab is the larger version of Sony’s Xperia Z smart phone. It comes in similar straight line design and water proof structure. The only thing missing in the tablet is the glass black that was present in the phone.

Sony Xperia Tablet PC weights 495 grams and measures 266 x 172 x 6.9 mm in dimension. It is around 166Kg lighter than iPad 4 and 109 lighter than Nexus 10 Tablet PCs. At 6.9mm it is impressively slim and its jet black design too makes Xperia Z a sleek, imposing a design that’s all its own.
At left you can find 3.5mm audio jack, power on/off button, volume rocker and contact for docking tab. Its bottom comprises ports for microUSB, SIM and microSD card, covered with plastic flaps. Further, the tab has no any other ports or slots at the top or right hand side. However, it comes with two speakers placed at the bottom edge and two on the right and left edge.
Sony Xperia Z Tablet comes with 10.1 inches Reality Display that works with Mobile BRAVIA Engine 2 technology. Its TFT Capacitive Touch Screen is capable of offering 1920x1200 pixels resolution. And trust me; this is one thing that makes Xperia Z the most anticipated devices; thanks to Sony’s Bravia heritage.
Also, the screen is capable of displaying Full HD video playback. But it gets rundown by Nexus 10’s 2560x1600 pixels resolution, still the quality looked much improved from Sony’s previous tablets. Also, its 16:9 aspect ratio makes the device compatible for watching movies.
Even the viewing angles are much better and brightness looks pretty decent. The visibility under the sun light was good enough.
Tech and Specs
Qualcomm’s 1.5GHz quad-core Snapdragon S4 Pro Processor; though not a match to Samsung Galaxy S4’s Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 CPU but faster and powerful than Nexus 10's quad-core processor.
Further, Xperia Z Tablet comes with 2GB RAM and same Adreno 320 graphics core chipset as the Galaxy S4. This perfect combination makes the Z tab one of the most advanced and powerful devices.
Software and UI
Sony Xperia Z Tablet runs on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean OS. Well, this actually disappointed me as I was expecting 4.2 Jelly Bean version for Xperia Z.
